Solomon Airlines has unveiled plans to launch
direct Honiara - Nadi flights on 4 November 2015, subject to
government approval.
The national carrier will operate the route with
Airbus A320 aircraft.
Flight IE 708 operating Wednesdays, will depart
Honiara at 15:15 arriving Nadi at 20:15.
Flight IE 709 operating Thursdays, will
depart Nadi at 11:00 arriving Honiara at 12:00.
The new service builds on the airline’s
existing Honiara - Nadi service which operates via Port Vila,
Vanuatu, on Saturdays and returns to Honiara, again via Port Vila,
on Sundays.
Solomon Airlines General Manager
Operations & Commercial, Gus Kraus said the commencement of the
new Honiara-Nadi service held great significance for the prospect
of increased trade and business links between the two countries as
well as a closer relationship with a key Melanesian neighbour.
“This new direct service opens up even
more opportunity for international travellers to make seamless
connections via Fiji into the Solomon Islands, and particularly
from North America and northern Asia,” he said.
“This new service represents yet another major benchmark for
Solomon Airlines in a very proud 53-year history.”
