Hong Kong Arts Festival Society Appoints New Chairman

The Hong Kong Arts Festival Society has appointed Mr. Victor Cha as Chairman.

The appointment follows the retirement of The Hon Ronald Arculli at the Annual General Meeting of the Society on 23 October 2015 upon completion of three terms as Chairman.

Mr. Cha is the Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of HKR International Limited, a Hong Kong-listed conglomerate. He also serves as an independent director in a number of Hong Kong listed companies, including SOHO China Limited and New World Development Company Limited, and a director of Mingly Corporation.

Active in public service, Mr. Cha is a Member of the Board of Trustees of The Better Hong Kong Foundation and a Member of the Hong Kong-Japan Business Co-Operation Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Mr. Cha was a Member of the Court and a Member of the Council of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University which conferred a University Fellowship on Mr. Cha in January 2011 in recognition of his contributions to the university and the community. He was also a Member of the Council of The Hong Kong Institute of Education; a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Department of Mathematics of the City University of Hong Kong; a Member of the Board of Overseers of the Hong Kong Institute of Biotechnology; a Member of the Executive Committee and a Member of the Council of The Hong Kong Management Association.
