[HD video below]
Exclusive HD video interview with Edward Hobson, the Director of
Sales and Marketing at the Eaton Hotel in Hong Kong.
In this video, filmed at the hotel on 30 March
2015, we discuss the importance of the
Cathay Pacific / HSBC Hong Kong Sevens to the property,
whether the location of the hotel is suitable for those going to
the stadium and what methods of transport are available and how
long it takes to get there.
We also discuss the Smart Rooms at the hotel and
learn whether they have been the success the hotel was hoping for
and which markets and age groups they are attracting the most. You
will also learn what the hotel plans to do with its Smart
Breakfast, whether the hotel plans to add any more Smart Rooms to
the inventory, and what it has been doing with the other room
categories.
Mr Hobson tells us his thoughts on the new
technology trends within the industry such as check-in kiosks,
mobile keys and such like, as well as how much of the hotel's
business comes through online channels, and how much of that comes
through their own channels. We also discuss competition on the
internet and how an hotel can make itself stand out against all
the competition, and what the hotel is doing to promote and sell
its unused inventory.
We talk about how the hotel was affected by last
year's demonstrations, which markets were most sensitive to them
and what the hotel did to ensure that its customers knew that it
was business as usual.
Plus, what plans does the hotel have for the
future? With so much unused space, could the hotel build a few
hundred more rooms? Any renovation plans? All this and much, much
more in the video below.
