The Townhouse, a boutique Bed & Breakfast in
Perth, Scotland, has become the first in the city to be awarded
five stars by VisitScotland.
The Townhouse achieved the grading after taking
part in the national tourism organisation’s Quality Assurance
Scheme which recognises businesses that meet and exceed the high
standards expected by guests.
Jim Clarkson, VisitScotland Regional Director,
said, “I would like to congratulate David and Laurent on
their 5-star award and for being the first 5 star B&B in Perth to
achieve this. Not only is this a big achievement for The
Townhouse, but also for the city itself. Situated in the heart of
Scotland, Perth is a fantastic place to visit and having a five
star B&B will hopefully encourage new visitors to come and explore
the region. Our Quality Assurance scheme raises the
standard of quality and service, ensuring businesses in Perthshire
meet and exceed the high standards expected by visitors. I hope
The Townhouse and its 5 stars will inspire others to strive for
such results.”
Having opened in June 2012, The Townhouse is a
family business run by David Henderson and Laurent Moller, who
after spending the last 26 years in the Caribbean, have settled
down in Perth to open a small but special place for visitors.
Situated overlooking the South Inch Park, The
Townhouse offers 2 deluxe park view rooms, 2 large traditional
rooms and 1 king deluxe single room which all have traditional and
antique furnishing, with modern amenities and luxury bathroom
fittings.
David Henderson, owner of The Townhouse, said, “Laurent and I are very excited to receive
a 5-star award from VisitScotland, it is like getting the cherry
on the shortbread. It is also a big thank you for our invested
time and effort for Perth and it gives us the confidence to
continue to offer this beautiful city wonderful accommodation. We
hope this mark of excellence will inspire more visitors to come to
Perth.”
