Premier Inn Signs 200-Room Hotel in Munich

Premier Inn has secured the freehold for a new-build, 200-room hotel in Munich city centre.

The hotel, located at Sonnentrasse between Karlsplatz and Sendlinger Tor, is the group's second signing in Germany.

Construction of the new hotel, which will be owned and operated by Premier Inn, will start mid 2016 with opening scheduled for late 2018 / early 2019.

Mark Anderson, Managing Director – Property, Commercial and Premier Inn Germany, said, “Securing another prime site like this is great news as we look to build our business in Germany. This Munich deal puts us right into the centre of a vibrant city for business and leisure travel and within walking distance of the train station and all the important sights and attractions of central Munich.”

Premier Inn's other hotel in Germany is in Frankfurt, it is scheduled to open in spring 2016.

The company aims to to open 8 to 10 hotels in prime locations in the biggest cities in Germany in the next few years.

Premier Inn also has extensive expansion plans for the Asia Pacific region.
