279 Buyers Attend 22nd Peru Travel Mart

The 22nd Peru Travel Mart (PTM 2015), which took place 15 - 17 May, was attended by 279 travel buyers, amid 163 international and 116 national travel buyers.

International buyers attended the show from Italy, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, India, China and Israel.

Closer to Peru, buyers also flew in from Mexico Panama, United States, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Chile, Brazil, and Paraguay.

Peru Travel Mart (PTM 2015) included social activities where negotiators could meet local entrepreneurs and visit Lima City’s main attractions, including enjoying its folklore and gastronomy as well.

The seminars in this event were oriented toward the diffusion of a greater knowledge of Peru as a destination, as well as of the tools to be used for this purpose.

Peru is one of the most important tourist destinations worldwide. Recently, the Andean country climbed 15 positions in the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2015. It advanced to position 58th (out of a total of 147 economies) after being ranked 73rd, the National Society of Industries reported. Among Latin America and Caribbean nations, it was ranked 7th (out of a total of 17). Peru was also placed 9th among the Top 10 Most Tourism-ready Economies of South and Central America.

The 23 Peru Travel Mart (PTM 2016) will be held in Lima on 13-15 May 2016.
