Singapore Airlines will open the doors of
the SIA Training Centre to the public for the very first time, as
part of the airline’s SG50 activities.
To be held on 25 July 2015,
the SIA Open House will provide visitors exclusive access to
behind-the-scenes training of the pilots and cabin crew of SIA.
The one day event will be held from 9am to 6pm.
Activities will include walking tours of the
flight simulator, safety training as well as cabin crew
training facilities. Visitors can also participate in an all-day
carnival and visit the SIA Heritage Gallery showcasing SIA’s
development over the years.
Children aged between 4 and 10 will be able to participate in an exclusive Junior Cabin Crew Experience.
This 60-minute activity will provide children an opportunity to
don the iconic SIA cabin crew uniform, learn more about the
renowned service attributes of crew, as well as role-play with
a parent in a replica of the SIA A380 Business Class cabin.
Mr Christopher Cheng, Singapore Airlines’ Senior Vice President
Human Resources and Chairman of the SIA Open House and Art
Competition Committee, said, “It has been an exciting year for
Singapore Airlines as we celebrate the nation’s 50th birthday
while giving back to the community. Through the open house, we aim
to provide a unique and memorable experience for the public to see
what goes on behind the scenes at SIA.”
Free shuttle bus services from Tanah Merah MRT
Station and Singapore EXPO will be provided to and from the SIA
Training Centre, which is located at 720 Upper Changi Road East.
Visitors are advised to utilise the shuttle service as
parking will not be available on the premises. The timetable of
