Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has made the following
two
General Manager appointments:
Fredrick Arul has been appointed as
General Manager of Hyatt Hotel Canberra - A Park Hyatt Hotel.
Fredrick began his career in hospitality over 30 years ago in
Malaysia, and subsequently gained experience at leading hotels in
locations as diverse as Switzerland, South Africa, Beijing and
Bali. Most recently, Fredrick was Executive Vice President at TCC
Hotels Management, managing the assets of 19 international hotels
and overseeing both operations and development.
“I
would like to thank outgoing General Manager Mikael Svensson for
his incredible contribution to Hyatt Hotel Canberra - A Park Hyatt
Hotel over the past four years,” said Robert Dawson, Hyatt’s Area
Vice President for the Pacific region. “Mikael has left a
significant imprint, but I am confident that Fredrick, with his
exemplary credentials and decades of frontline and management
experience, will be an invaluable asset to the Hyatt Pacific team.”
In Mainland China, Carol Ren has been appointed
as General Manager of Hyatt Regency Chongming. Carol commenced her career with
Hyatt in 1999, joining the pre-opening Front Office team at Grand
Hyatt Shanghai, which was the very first Grand Hyatt branded hotel
in China. She
advanced to become Director of Rooms and part of the pre-opening
team at Hyatt on the Bund in 2006, and subsequently was chosen to
be its Hotel Manager in 2013.
“It is extremely
rewarding to see Carol’s talent having developed, and continuing
to develop, within Hyatt and I am fully confident that she is well
prepared for this opportunity,” said Richard Greaves, Hyatt’s Area
Vice President for China. “We are delighted that Carol will lead
the Hyatt Regency Chongming team into the future and firmly
believe her youthful dynamism and energy, together with her strong
knowledge of the Shanghai market, will achieve even more success
for the hotel.”
