Emirates has launched a second daily Airbus A380
service to London Gatwick Airport.
The A380, to operate EK15/16 instead of a Boeing
777, will add a total of 318 seats per day, a capacity increase in
all three classes of 11.5%.
Emirates flight EK15 will depart Dubai International Airport at
08:00 and arrive in London Gatwick at 12:30. The outbound
flight, EK16, will depart London Gatwick Airport at 14:25 and
arrive in Dubai at 00:25.
Stewart Wingate, Chief Executive
Officer, London Gatwick, said, “Following increasing passenger
demand and a strong performance of Emirates’ first A380 service to
Dubai from Gatwick, we welcome the introduction a second daily
A380 service. With the world’s busiest single runaway and a
constant flow of passengers from London’s South East, it is
important that we offer travellers the best possible connections
to worldwide destinations and the new Emirates A380 service allows
us to do just that.”
With the Gatwick Express, travellers can travel
from the airport to London Victoria station in just 30 minutes.
