Amatara Resort in Phuket Appoints Phoebe Boonkerd as Wellness Director

Amatara Resort & Wellness in Phuket, Thailand has appointed Phoebe Boonkerd as Wellness Director.

A well-rounded wellness professional with more than 15 years of experience as a therapist, naturopath, herbalist, nutritionist and yoga teacher, Phoebe will oversee all aspects of the resort's full-service spa and wellness offering.

Phoebe's responsibilities will include marketing, management and enhancement of Amatara Resort & Wellness’s comprehensive guest wellness programs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Phoebe Boonkerd to our leadership team,” said Mr. Brice Borin, General Manager of Amatara Resort & Wellness. “Amatara Health & Wellness promotes a total well-being lifestyle that encompasses the entire person - body, mind and soul. Her expertise in wellness and clinical experience will contribute to providing the most complete and beneficial services for our guests.”

Phoebe joins Amatara Resort & Wellness from Chiva Som - one of the most well known destination health spas in the world - where she spent more than six years. Working at Chiva Som offered her a wealth of clinical experience and the privilege of treating large numbers of people from all over the world.

In addition to her impressive wellness experience, Phoebe has trained in Chi Nei Tsang therapy (Thailand), as well as two years of training and mentoring in Kinesiology (Australia) and over 15 years of personal yoga and meditation practice.

She has worked extensively in the spa and wellness environment, working with a wide range of clientele and fellow practitioners, both in Australia and Thailand.

“Through my own practice as a therapist, my health journey, and learning about those of others, I have come to understand that wellbeing is not a destination but a way of living, and that the best work a teacher or therapist can do is be a guide, in the spirit of support and nurture,” Phoebe said.

In early 2016, Amatara spa facilities will include a Thai Hamam, a combination of Thai and Turkish Hamam treatments, with a Salt Relaxation Room for asthma and allergies, and Rhassoul Clay treatments for improving the health and vitality of the body and skin.
