Louis T Collection Appoints Director of Project Services; First Job - Mantra Samui

Louis T Collection, an hospitality management company, has appointed Robert Batrick as Director of Project Services.

The British-national will head Louis T’s project services team, which provides project management services at all levels - from minor hotel renovations to complete builds.

Robert has more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry.

His most recent role was with Getz Bros & Co., where he held the position of regional project manager, based out of Singapore.

Prior to leaving London he worked as contracts manager at Skansen Interiors, where he managed large-scale, commercial and government fit-outs and refurbishments in the UK.

Robert also holds an honors degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of Westminster.

“Robert has a keen understanding of the commercial aspects of construction, and a proven ability in delivering complex projects within tight timelines whilst sticking to budget,” said Grant Healy, CEO of Louis T Collection. “Not engaging a professional project manager for a new build or renovation is something that happens too often, with unfortunate consequences. An owner will often avoid the cost of hiring a professional project manager at the start of the project and try to muddle through, often leaving their GM and/or engineering manager to handle. I've seen very few cases where this strategy has been successful. Instead, the projects are poorly managed resulting in budget blow-outs and delay in completion. The secret to success is to plan and execute well.”

Robert's first task in the new position will be managing the Mantra Samui renovations, in Koh Samui, Thailand. The hotel was purchased by the company earlier this year.
