Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has unveiled plans
to triple its number of hotels in China to over 50 in the next four years.
“We have an over 20 year history in China and
increasing our footprint in the country is an integral part of our
growth strategy in Asia Pacific,” said Thorsten Kirschke,
president, Asia Pacific, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “In addition
to the 50 hotels we plan to have in operation by 2019, we are
moving forward aggressively to grow our presence and expand our pipeline in China further to deliver an even stronger growth
trajectory.”
Carlson Rezidor has strong
representation in key markets and secondary cities in China,
including 14 hotels currently in operation and a growing pipeline.
In fact, it has also just signed the
200-room Park Inn by Radisson Libo in the Guizhou province. The
hotel is located at the entrance of Xiqikong National Park, close
to the Daqikong karst site, which is part of the famous South
China Karst UNESCO World Heritage site. Park Inn by Radisson Libo
will be a newly constructed hotel and is owned by Libo Scenic
Investment Co Ltd. The hotel is scheduled to open in the second
quarter of 2016.
The company plans to increase its presence in China in
top-tier cities, strengthen its focus on development opportunities
in emerging markets and introduce two new brands, Quorvus
Collection - a curated set of luxury hotels, and Radisson Red - an
upscale lifestyle select brand.

capture the millennial travelers aged 25 – 34 which are forecast
to
make up more than a third of Chinese tourists by 2019. Carlson
