New World has been appointed by Jakarta -based
PT. Mugie Bali Indah to manage a new resort in Bali.
Scheduled to open in 2017 as the first New World
Hotels & Resorts property in Indonesia, the New World Grand Bali
Resort will be set on 10.8 hectares in part of the Pecatu Indah
Resort development located on the southern Bukit Peninsula.
Only 15 minutes' drive from Uluwatu
Temple and 30 minutes' drive from Ngurah Rai Badung International
Airport, the resort will be built following the site's natural
slope which is 156 metres above sea level at its highest point.
The resort's cascading topography will afford ocean views for all
accommodations.
WOW Design
Studio, Belt Collins International landscape architects and Hirsch Bedner Associates interior designers, will create the lavish
public spaces, exteriors and accommodations.
Of the 328
guestrooms, the suites and grand suites will have individual decks
and plunge pools. Selected guestrooms, all suites and 85 one to
four-bedroom villa residences will be available for purchase.
Those in residences will have access to an exclusive club and
pool.
Taking inspiration from a Balinese mountaintop
retreat, tiered gardens will step down gently in the manner of
Bali's iconic rice paddy terraces. The resort's landscape will be
cloaked in forest flora, interspersed with meandering pathways,
and indigenous building materials will include an abundance of
natural lava rock. The sound of water will provide the backdrop
throughout the property with waterfalls, pools and streams around
every corner.
For those ready for more lively aquatic fun, in
addition to the main swimming pool with its 1,580-square-metre
viewing deck overlooking the Bali Strait and coastline, and
"dancing" fountain concept, the adjacent waterpark will offer a
"Lazy River", sandy beach, kids pool, water slides, forest-themed
restaurant and stage performances.
Other recreational options will
include a spa, fitness center, the New Kuta Golf Course in the Pecatu Indah compound, and access to a nearby secluded,
cliff-encircled beach.
The resort will also feature four restaurants
and a rooftop destination lounge. Meeting space will include a
ballroom of 1,100 square metres and four meeting rooms, as well as
a wedding chapel.
"We are very grateful to Mugie Bali Indah for
giving us this opportunity to enter the 'Island of the Gods,' home
to some of the most exotic and acclaimed resorts in the world,"
said Sonia Cheng , chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel
Group, New World Hotels & Resorts' parent company. "With their
