VietJet has signed a memorandum of
understanding with Boeing.
The MOU supports the goal of expanding VietJets fleet with Boeings commercial jet aircraft as well as
explore areas of collaboration to fleet planning, flight and
maintenance training, marketing, branding, and financing.
Mr.
Nguyen Thanh Hung, Vice Chairman of Vietjets Board of
Management, said, Our
continuous investment in new and modern fleet is crucial to VietJets development strategy in Asia Pacific. We are honoured
and delighted to sign this deal, which is expected to bring more
business opportunities for both VietJet and Boeing in the near
future.
VietJet has recorded an impressive growth
since it launched its operations in late 2011. The airline
currently operates a fleet of 25 A321 and A320 aircraft across 32
routes domestically and internationally, and plans to add four
more aircraft by the end of 2015.
During the recent Paris Air
Show, VietJet also ordered six additional A321 aircraft for
delivery in 2017.
