The Hotel Cotton House Barcelona is to
join Marriott International’s Autograph Collection when it opens
on 23 February 2015.
Located in a prime position on Barcelona's Gran
Vía, Hotel Cotton House Barcelona is housed in an iconic 19th
century building - formerly the headquarters of the Association of
Cotton Manufacturers.
Since its construction in the late 1800s, the
'House of Cotton' has been a significant Barcelona landmark; after
an extensive restoration and refurbishment, the building has
become a sophisticated hotel embodying the essence of this
historic building.
Staying true to the hotel’s historical essence, Lázaro Rosa-Violán was commissioned to
design the hotel in a contemporary and sophisticated manner.
With
83 bedrooms including 7 suites, the
boutique hotel welcomes guests through a beautiful covered hall of
mirrors, leading them into an octagonal hall with two
sweeping staircases.
The former public areas of the building, open to
all guests, now house an elegant library, a restaurant and
cocktail bar, a light-filled conservatory and a 300 m2 terrace
with lush vegetation. A striking rooftop pool occupies the sixth
floor.
John Licence, brand leader for Autograph
Collection in Europe, said, “Barcelona is a hugely popular
destination for both leisure and business travellers, and we are
really excited to debut such a unique hotel in the heart of
Catalonia. The rich heritage of the building is complemented by
the exquisite new design, and we have no doubt that travellers
will have an incredible experience that Autograph Collection has
become known for delivering.”
Room rates at the Hotel Cotton House Barcelona start from €200 per night.
