MCI South Africa has appointed Rashid
Toefy as Managing Director. The appointment is effective 1st July
2014.
As current CEO of Africa's leading convention
centre, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), and
Chapter Chairperson of the International Congress and Convention
Association (ICCA) Africa, Rashid plays an instrumental role in
championing the potential of Africa as a destination and
commercial region and in helping African associations develop into
more professional and strategic organisations.

connections, Rashid will reinforce MCI South Africa’s capacity to
deliver winning strategies and solutions for clients across the
IMEA region,” said Sumaira Isaacs, Chief Operating Officer, India,
Middle East and Africa. “Rashid’s appointment will also further
enhance collaboration between MCI and our valued partner CTICC,
bringing clients even more impressive results during experiences
in this unique venue.”
Alongside a record financial performance,
Rashid’s term of office at the CTICC was characterised by his
visionary leadership on sustainability issues. An advisory Board
Member of the UN Global Compact in South Africa, Rashid will bring
unique regional experience to MCI, further enhancing the company’s sustainability consulting services, thought leadership
and growing reputation as one of the world’s leading organisers of
environmental, social and governance (ESG) events.
