The Langham, Hong Kong has completed a US$30 million facelift.

Headlining the new look for the hotel is Palm Court, a lounge glamorously restyled after its namesake at The Langham, London where traditional British afternoon tea was first served almost 150 years ago.

This fresh and elegant space serves as a dramatic backdrop to the lobby, featuring natural stone flooring and painted timber columns that showcase a traditional, yet luxurious finish.

Palm Court will reopen with the launch of the bespoke version of the tradition – “The Langham Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood” – serving Wedgwood specialty teas in tailor-made “Langham Rose” Wedgwood Chinaware with a special menu by new Executive Pastry Chef, Reinhard Lackner.

The renovation also extends to 230 rooms and suites.

The new Grand Langham Room (34m2) features a light, refined scheme with a palette of soft greys, golds and beige that infuses subtle references to 1920s glamour. Framed in finishes of dark, stained walnut and polished nickel, the Faux Fireplace is the sophisticated focal point of the room amidst other beautiful features such as the thoughtfully crafted work desk and mini-bar cabinet, and a chaise lounge-style sweeping sofa by the window bay.

Hailing from London, and making its debut at The Langham, Hong Kong is Artesian. Voted “The World's Best Bar” for two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013 by Drinks International, Artesian is a cocktail bar that features interiors that combine a nostalgic romance of Art Deco details with alluring contemporary touches. Featuring Bourbon creations, guests at Artesian can expect the finest classic cocktails masterfully crafted with house-made infusions, shaken and stirred by the bar crew, and led by Bar Manager, Rajendra “Rush” Limbu.

“This major initiative repositions The Langham, Hong Kong at the top end of the city’s leading luxury hotels,” said the hotel’s Managing Director, Bob van den Oord. “New facilities and amenities enhance our brand as the luxury hotel of choice in vibrant Tsim Sha Tsui, for discerning guests looking for supreme comfort and convenience. We will continue to elevate our overall guest experience by assigning a Guest Experience Manager to every room and maintain our Shopping Butler Service to ensure a luxury bespoke Hong Kong shopping experience for our shopping guests.”
