JAL Group carried a total of 426,480 passengers
on its international flights and 1,635,101 passengers domestically
during the 17 day New Year vacation period in Japan between 20
December 2013 and 5 January 2014.
The number of passengers on
JAL's international routes went up 3.2% when compared to the same
period last year, against a 2.5% increase in the number of
available seats.
Flights to and from every region, with the
exception of China, were more than 80.0% full, resulting in an
overall load factor of 82.9% on the group's international routes.
The number of passengers on domestic flights
rose 11.0% while seat capacity has increased by 3.6% compared to
the same period last year. Overall domestic load factor improved
approximately 5 percentage points from last year to 71.3%.
During this period, the JAL Group operated 22 chartered
flights to Alaska, Honolulu Guam and Palau, as well as 41 extra flights to Honolulu and Bangkok. Meanwhile, 35 extra flights on
various domestic routes.
