Singapore Airlines has confirmed it will operate
flight to Sapporo, Japan, in December 2014 and January 2015.
A total
of 14 flights will be operated to the capital of Hokkaido, a vast
island accounting for about a fifth of Japan's total area.
A
renowned skiing and snow sports destination, Hokkaido is also home
to many national parks and natural landscapes, high-quality
agriculture and seafood, hot springs, as well as the Sapporo White
Illumination - a Festival where the city blanketed in snow will be
lit with decorative lights.
Flights to Sapporo's New Chitose Airport will
operate twice-weekly as SQ660 on Mondays and Fridays, between 1
December 2014 and 16 January 2015.
Flights will depart at 23:30
and arrive at 08:00 the following day. Return Sapporo-Singapore
flights will operate as SQ661, departing at 09:30 on Tuesdays
and 08:55 on Saturdays, between 2 December 2014 and 17 January
2015.
Airbus A330-300s will be used for the flights, with 30 seats
in Business Class and 255 seats in Economy Class.
Singapore Airlines operates
year-round services to four other Japanese cities, namely Fukuoka,
Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo (both Haneda and Narita airports).
