Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has signed a
long-term management contract for a new 275-room hotel in the
heart of Metro Manila, Philippines.
The new Mandarin Oriental, Manila, which is
scheduled to open in 2020, will be part of a mixed-use development
centrally located within Makati City.
The group will close the existing Mandarin
Oriental, Manila on Makati Avenue later this year.
The new Mandarin Oriental, Manila
will feature a variety of restaurants and a signature spa. The
hotel will be owned and developed by Ayalaland Hotels & Resorts. Further
information on the new hotel project are expected once details
are confirmed.

support over the years. All hotel colleagues have been informed of
the forthcoming closure and will receive full and fair severance
payment and appropriate professional guidance,” said Torsten van
