Brussels Airlines has awarded a long-term
passenger and ramp handling contract to Worldwide Flight Services
(WFS) at Manchester International Airport.
Effective 1 February 2014, the three-year
agreement will see WFS providing services for Brussels Airlines’
19 flights a week between the two cities.
The carrier serves
Manchester using AVRO RJ100, Airbus A319/A320 and Dash 8 passenger
aircraft.
WFS, which was awarded a ground handling licence
to commence passenger and ramp handling at Manchester in April
last year, will provide check-in, gate, operations and aircraft
dispatch services for Brussels Airlines as well as loading and
unloading of baggage and cargo, and baggage make up.
Paul Mallard, Vice President Business
Development, Ground Handling at WFS, said, “We are proud that
Brussels Airlines has chosen to award such an important contract
to WFS following a competitive tender process. Its regular
scheduled services will enhance our growing portfolio of leading
airline customers. We have invested at Manchester Airport because
we recognised a need for the high quality services WFS provides
and our success in winning long-term airline contracts proves this
decision was correct.”
