Thai Airways International has adjusted its
flight schedule and temporarily suspended select flights to the
north of Thailand during the Floating Lantern Festival, or Loy
Krathong as it is known in Thailand.
|
Loy
Krathong is celebrated all over Thailand. In 2014 Loy Krathong will take place on 6 November.
|
Between 5-7 November 2014, people in the
northern provinces, and elsewhere in the Kingdom, will participate
in the tradition of releasing floating lanterns during the Loy
Krathong Festival.
As these floating lanterns are released at
night, Thai Airways has adjusted its flight schedule and
temporarily suspending certain flights on the Bangkok - Chiang Mai
- Bangkok route as a precautionary measure to avoid floating
lanterns being sucked into an aircraft engine.
