Accor has expanded its portfolio of hotels in
Australia with the opening of the ibis Adelaide.
The new build hotel features commissioned
artwork by street graffiti artist Ghostpatrol, and the latest
Samsung technology enabling guests to beam their photos, videos
and even games onto the big screen using compatible Samsung
Smartphone’s throughout all 311 guest rooms.
Ibis Adelaide’s General Manager, Nathan Frost
said, “It was really exciting and inspiring to work with an artist
like Ghostpatrol. His work pushes social boundaries much like ibis
Adelaide is pushing the boundaries of the economy hotel sector.
Our staff are wearing Converse, graffiti art hangs in the rooms
and we have the latest Samsung in-room technology. The hotel
represents an exciting new phase of economy hotels in Australia
making the experience both fun and unexpected.”
Ibis Adelaide’s interiors are modelled on the
new ibis global design aesthetic created by Parisian design firm
Atelier Archange where the design is playful yet functional.
The lounge to
the side of the lobby is a chill out zone where guests can catch
up on emails using the free wi-fi or simply relax in between
exploring the city.
Upstairs a communal bar spills out onto a
balcony that hangs over Grenfell Street letting guests and locals
watch the world go by. The restaurant has designer features such
as Bentwood and Kartell Comback chairs and a wall length mural
featuring a black and white Parisian sketch for a dining
experience with flair.
A stand out technology feature is the Samsung
Smarthub 690 Series in every one of the 311 guest rooms which, as its name suggests, is
a one-stop-shop for accessing everything from the hotel
restaurant’s menu and on demand entertainment to internet enabled
TV apps. The rooms also have a compact desk area with a Phillips
LED desk lamp with USB ports and adjustable office chair.
Essential to every hotel experience is a good
sleep and the Sweet Bed by ibis made by the brand accredited Sleep
Maker delivers this in every room. The beds also feature a LED
backlit bed head making it easier to read in bed.
The hotel also contains small meeting facilities
(two boardrooms), a guest laundry and an on-site indoor/outdoor
gym which is equipped with the latest Technogym equipment.
Ibis Adelaide is located at 122 Grenfell Street
which is a short stroll from the city's famous shopping and dining
precincts, Rundle Mall and Rundle Street, as well as the Adelaide
Oval, Casino, Convention Centre, Botanic Gardens, National Wine
Centre and Royal Adelaide Hospital. The hotel is Accor’s 60th
economy hotel joining a wide network across Australia.
To celebrate its opening the hotel is offering a special Bed & Breakfast package, for two people,
with rates starting from $122 per night. Terms and conditions
apply.
