The Hyatt Regency Incheon is to be rebranded as
the Grand Hyatt Incheon in September.
The hotel’s new West Tower will open on 1
September 2014, right in time to welcome the athletes and
spectators for the 17th Asian Games that will take place that
month.
There are also plans for an extensive
renovation in a phased approach for the East Tower of the hotel
over the next 18 months.
The rebranded hotel will be the 41st
hotel to join the Grand Hyatt brand and the second Grand Hyatt
hotel located in South Korea, joining Grand Hyatt Seoul.
“We are very excited for the rebranding of the existing
Hyatt Regency Incheon to our Grand Hyatt brand,” said Ratnesh
Verma, Senior Vice President, Real Estate and Development, Asia
Pacific, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. “With its dramatic meeting facilities,
large number of rooms and its proximity to the airport, the
expanded hotel will offer a unique destination within Asia that
will be attractive to meeting and group business.”
Minutes away from Incheon International Airport,
the hotel has been a prime accommodation choice as well as a
popular meeting and leisure destination since September 2003.
Adding to the existing 522 guestrooms in the
East Tower, the new West Tower extension will boast 500 new
guestrooms, with the two towers connecting via a sky bridge.
The
hotel will feature 1,022 guestrooms in total, becoming the largest
Hyatt hotel outside North America.
The West Tower will include
many residence-style guestrooms designed for long staying guests
with in-room amenities such as kitchens.
A grander ambience
and updated facilities will debut with the arrival of the West
Tower, including a new 1,250-square-metre Grand Ballroom and
multi-dimensional event venues; an all-day-dining Grand Café
featuring Western and Asian cuisines; the Swell Lounge
where guest can unwind and relax over a beverage; two swimming
pools and dedicated children’s play zone.
“With a
new brand and expanded facilities with dramatic design, exquisite
dining options, innovative and bold meeting and event concepts, we
are able to offer our guests an abundance of options and
possibilities, ultra-attentive service and a backdrop for multicultural experiences,” said General Manager, Paul Wright. “Our
hotel team is very excited to introduce the Grand Hyatt brand in
Incheon and we are ready to amaze business, leisure and local
guests.”
