Bede Barry Joins Conrad Macau Cotai Central as GM

Bede Barry has been appointed as general manager of the Conrad Macau, Cotai Central.

Originally from Australia, Barry has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, working in luxury hotels throughout Europe and Southeast Asia.

He studied at the prestigious Salburger Hotelfachschule hotel school in Austria, where he received a diploma in hotel and restaurant management. He then went on to work primarily in the rooms division for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Barry has a strong business and management background, as well as extensive experience in hotel pre-openings and renovations, both at the property and corporate level.

In 2010 he moved to Macau to take up his most recent position as general manager, Grand Lapa Macau.

“It is a very exciting time for Bede to be joining our Conrad Macau team as we prepare to unveil our new luxurious suites and Conrad Club Lounge in the coming weeks,” said Mark McWhinnie, senior vice president of development and shared services and director of Sands Cotai Central.
