InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has expanded
its portfolio of hotels in Indonesia with the opening of a new
Holiday Inn Express hotel in Surabaya, Indonesia’s second largest
city.
The 236-room Holiday Inn Express Surabaya CenterPlaza is the
first Holiday Inn Express hotel to open in the East Java capital
and the sixth in Indonesia.
“Since we launched the brand in Indonesia a year
ago, we’ve opened an average of one Holiday Inn Express hotel in
Indonesia every two months. The brand has been extremely popular
with travellers looking for a fuss-free and uncomplicated stay
when traveling for work or play,” said
Alan Watts, Chief Operating Officer, Asia Middle East and Africa
(AMEA), IHG. “Savvy and value-conscious travellers can now
look forward to the Holiday Inn Express experience in some of
Indonesia’s best and most convenient locations across Jakarta,
Bali, Semarang and now Surabaya. Indonesia is full of
opportunities and we look forward to opening 11 more Holiday Inn
Express hotels in the country over the next few years.”
Holiday Inn Express Surabaya CenterPlaza is
situated in the heart of Surabaya’s city centre, just a
30-minute drive from Juanda International Airport and a stone’s
throw away from the city’s Central Business District (CBD).
Business travellers can enjoy a quick and hassle-free commute to
business meetings and events in the CBD, while tourists can
stay close to some of Surabaya’s famous and largest shopping
malls such as Tunjungan Plaza, Galaxy Mall and Ciputra World for a
day of shopping all within five minutes from the hotel.
Also
close by are some of Surabaya’s major city attractions such as
Kayoon Park where tourists can visit the beautiful gardens at
Kayoon Flower Market or try out a variety of exciting water
sports along the Kayoon River.
