AirAsia has launched a promotion in Australia with fares to Asia from as low as A$99 one-way.

Travellers can fly to Kuala Lumpur from Adelaide and Perth for A$159 per person one-way; Gold Coast from A$169; and Melbourne and Sydney from A$179.

Some onwards one-way fares from Kuala Lumpur are as little as A$13 one-way.

The Megasale fares are available for booking from today (25 August 2014) to 31 August 2014 with the fares valid for travel from 1 March 2015 to 24 October 2015.

AirAsia Commercial Head of Australia & New Zealand Stuart Myerscough said with increased capacity between Asia and Australia and strong airline competition, there had never been a better time to fly internationally.

“With an increasing number of seats available for sale to Aussie travellers, airlines are becoming increasingly competitive. We are now seeing some of the most affordable overseas fares on the market for some time,” he said. “AirAsia is proud to offer some unbelievably competitive rates for travellers, with one way sale fares to Asia starting from just A$99 one way. In all 2.5 million seats will be on sale. Our ability to offer discounted fares is underpinned by AirAsia X’s strength in the market - recently adding extra capacity into Australia to take a market leadership position, and recording year on year revenue growth for the second quarter 2014 of 36.7%.”

Some of the more than 100 destinations on sale include:
