Sunrise Kempinski Hotel Beijing & Yanqi Island to Open 17 November 2014

Sunrise Kempinski Hotel, Beijing & Yanqi Island, managed by Kempinski, is now accepting reservations for stays on or after 17 November 2014.

The 14-square-kilometre destination located in the heart of scenic Yanqi Lake area is made up of 14 hotels: Sunrise Kempinski Hotel, Beijing (previously known as Yanqi Lake Kempinski Hotel Beijing), with 306 guestrooms and suites (by the lake shore), as well as Yanqi Hotel with 111 guestrooms and suites, and 12 Boutique Hotels with 178 guestrooms and suites (on Yanqi Island).

Facilities include 14 restaurants and bars, 14,069 square metres of meeting space, landscaped gardens, a private marina, an electronic boat, the Yanqi Pagoda, Kempinski The Spa, recreational and fitness facilities, and a Kid's Club.

To celebrate the opening, special introductory room packages start from RMB 1,088+ for a Deluxe Room at Sunrise Kempinski Hotel, Beijing, including breakfast for two at Elements, and RMB 1,388+ in a Grand Deluxe Room at Yanqi Hotel, including breakfast for two at Waterside.

"We anticipate that leisure travellers will be an important market for our Sunrise Kempinski & Yanqi Island destination accounting for 40% of our total revenue," said general manager Brice Péan. "We want to encourage travellers to stretch their stay in the Yanqi Lake area, by breaking their trip with a rest at our hotel. Our new destination is set to offer guests an exciting experience of a fully integrated resort on the outskirts of Beijing."

Yanqi Lake is a beautiful scenic site located at the foot of the Yan Mountains, surrounded by a variety of trees including pine, poplar and willow. The island is a natural habitat for various species of birds, including rare migrant birds and geese, especially during spring and autumn. The name Yanqi Lake literally translates as 'Swans Dwell on the Lake'.
