Peppers Hotels has officially opened its first
CBD-based hotel - Peppers Gallery Hotel Canberra - in the heart of
the capital’s vibrant New Acton precinct.

Canberra (formerly the Diamant Hotel) is an 80-room boutique hotel
which houses the renowned Bicicletta Italian restaurant, a
favourite amongst Canberra’s emerging dining scene.
General Manager, James Sharrock
who has over five years’ experience in managing boutique hotels
having previously worked with the Art Series hotel group in
Melbourne before joining Diamant at Canberra, said he is looking
forward to some exciting changes under the Peppers brand. “Peppers is well known for its personalised guest
experience and I look forward to further building on that culture
that we have nurtured with our guests over the last few years,” he
said. “I’m also pleased to announce that Bicicletta will extend its opening hours and now open for
breakfast as well as continuing with our evening dining service.”
Located close to the shores of Lake
Burley Griffin in the newly transformed New Acton precinct, the
hotel is housed in a historic, heritage listed building surrounded
by landscaped gardens and specialist retailers with Canberra’s
main cultural, entertainment, sporting and commercial facilities
nearby. Canberra’s upgraded airport is also easily accessible.
The Australian National University, National Museum of
Australia, Botanical Gardens and Telstra viewing tower are all
within five minutes’ drive while the National Zoo & Aquarium and
the National Arboretum – Canberra’s fastest growing attraction –
are within 15 minutes’ drive.
Rooms feature
Bang and Olufsen plasma TVs, iPod docking stations, plunger coffee
makers, free broadband access, original art works throughout and
luxurious bathrooms with rain shower and marble vanity tops.

continue to seek out opportunities for further CBD expansion for
the Peppers brand, “It
has always been our objective to take the Peppers brand to CBD
locations and it is great to see Peppers in the national capital.
We have a brand new Peppers development set to open in Melbourne’s
Docklands precinct in 2016 and will continue to seek out further
CBD opportunities in the meantime.”

Hotel is offering an opening special including a cheese platter on
arrival, breakfast for two and late checkout to 1pm staying in a
Deluxe Room from A$194 per night Friday-Sunday or from A$239 per
