Japan Airlines and American Airlines have agreed
to expand their codeshare cooperation from 26 October 2014,
resulting in an increase in the number of JAL codeshare flights
available on the U.S. - Brazil routes operated by AA.
In addition to JAL's codeshare flights (operated
by AA) to Brazil via New York and Dallas Fort Worth, the airline
decided to add new codeshare flights on the Los Angeles - San
Paulo route into its network between Japan and Brazil, to provide
customers with improved convenience and benefits.
In 2013, Brazil entered the top ten for
international tourism expenditure at tenth place, on the back of a
13% increase to US$ 25 billion.
Hosting the FIFA World Cup helped receipts from
international tourism in Brazil to grow by 10% in the first seven
months of 2014 with a staggering 60% increase in June and July.
According to the WTTC, travel and tourism in
Brazil generated 3,048,500 jobs directly in 2013 (3.0% of total
employment) and this is forecast to grow by 2.8% in 2014 to
3,134,000 (3.1% of total employment). By 2024, the travel and
tourism sector is expected to account for 3,787,000 jobs directly,
an increase of 1.9% pa over the next ten years.
