Accor has expanded its portfolio of hotels in Asia Pacific with the opening of The Lake Garden, Nay Pyi Taw, the newest member of the MGallery Collection and the first Accor hotel in Myanmar.

The newly-built hotel is a five-minute drive away from Myanmar International Convention Centre (MICC) and 20 minutes from Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.

“We are delighted to add The Lake Garden, Nay Pyi Taw to the MGallery Collection of memorable hotels. This hotel opening will officially mark Accor’s return into Myanmar,” said Mr Patrick Basset, Chief Operating Officer of Accor Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines. “This opening comes at a time when the capital is seeing an influx of visitors with a strong demand for an upscale accommodation with international standard facilities and superb services. The Lake Garden is the perfect accommodation for discerning travellers looking for a memorable hotel experience in this capital city.”

MGallery hotels are categorized according to three themes – Signature, Heritage and Serenity. Due to its architecture amidst tropical surroundings by a gorgeous lake, The Lake Garden is categorised under the “Serenity” category.

Mr David Daguise, The Lake Garden, Nay Pyi Taw’s General Manager said, “The hotel is a serene sanctuary which offers guests a unique experience through an extraordinary journey of modern Myanmar influenced by its rich, cultural heritage. Its contemporary, lush comfort and a sense of ‘Serenity’ can be felt throughout the property, while its five-star hospitality and local charm offer guests a memorable experience throughout their stay.”

Guests are greeted at the hotel entrance by three imposing bells, a reminiscent of the Great Bell of Mingun - reputed to be the second largest bell in the world - and the inspiration behind the hotel’s logo and theme.

The hotel has four low-level buildings and features 165 rooms and suites – 2 Presidential Suites, 8 Executive Suites, 30 Deluxe Suites, 64 Deluxe Rooms and 61 Superior Rooms.

The Grand Bell all-day dining, bell-themed restaurant offers a diverse choice of cuisines. The Oak Room, the hotel’s wine cellar and cigar room, offers an elegant ambience with club-feel leather chairs for guests to enjoy flights of wines, aged spirits and cocktails from an extensive list. The Primo is a specialty Italian restaurant that offers the finest Mediterranean cuisine in a local atmosphere.

The hotel’s meeting facilities consist of a conference room which can accommodate up to 250 delegates, six breakout meeting rooms for small-to-medium size functions, and two state-of-the-arts boardrooms.

The hotel also offers an array of recreational options with its fully equipped MFit fitness studio, an oversized outdoor swimming pool, a spa and a tennis court.
