Wyndham Hotel Group has appointed hospitality
veteran Barry Robinson as President and Managing Director, South
East Asia and Pacific Rim.
In this role, effective 1 January 2015, Robinson
will be responsible for Wyndham Hotel Group’s operations and
development functions in the region as well as the coordination
and execution of cross-functional brand initiatives.
Robinson has served Wyndham Hotel Group
since 2009 as managing director, South Pacific, overseeing the
company’s expansion into Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia and
Guam. Under his leadership, the hotel group’s portfolio has grown
to 15 hotels currently open and operating under the Ramada,
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, TRYP by Wyndham and Days Inn brand
flags.
He has also served as CEO and managing director of Wyndham
Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific since 2003, which is part of sister
company Wyndham Vacation Ownership, one of the world’s largest developers
and marketers of flexible, points-based vacation ownership
products. Robinson will retain this position in addition to his
new role with Wyndham Hotel Group.

Earlier in his hospitality
career, Robinson held roles in the Asia Pacific region with global
hotel companies such as Swissotel Worldwide Partner Hotels and
Choice Hotels International.
