If you ever do an online search for accommodation options in the
charming city of Ubon Ratchathani in the north east of Thailand,
the chances are that you will come across The Outside Inn.
This small 8-room property is run by a young man
and wife team, Brent and Noppawan Fenneman, who have together
created one of the top-rated places to stay in the city.
The Outside Inn is just a short 32-Baht ride
from the airport, and not much further from the quaint old town
with its tree-lined wide boulevards, parks, temples, popular
traditional food market and weekend walking street market.
The Outside Inn Ubon Ratchathani is a mix between a Guesthouse and a
B&B, and offers travellers a choice of two different room
categories - two Premium Royal Lotus Rooms, and six Jasmine Rooms.
With room rates between just THB 650 and
THB 799 per night including breakfast, the rooms are basic, but comfortable.
In the three HD videos below, you will see what
a Premium Royal Lotus Room is like, learn from Ms. Noppawan
Fenneman (Khun Tun) a little about Ubon Ratchathani and how she
would like to see the city develop. She also gives us a little
insight into what makes her Mexican Restaurant - she is not only
the owner, but Executive Chef too - so popular. We speak with her
husband, Brent, about how he ended up in Ubon Ratchathani, how
they have cut up the 8 rooms they have and how those two
categories differ, what
his thoughts on the city and its tourism potential are, as well as
more about the property itself and what are some of the things
that people should do when they visit Ubon.
Ubon Ratchathani
Ubon Ratchathani has enormous, as yet, untapped
tourism potential. It is a truly charming city, with a wealth of
cultural and natural wonders for visitors to discover. The people
of Ubon are generous, welcoming, and very proud of the wonderful
Thai province they call home. The airport is attracting more and
more flights, more established hotel companies are beginning to
take notice and open their own hotels, and the city even offers
3-hour complimentary open air bus tours to tourists. We will
have a lot more on this wonderful city in Thailand to come.
