Following the resignation of Emirsyah Satar from
his position of President Director of Garuda Indonesia on 8
December 2014, the Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting
(EGSM) appointed M. Arif Wibowo as the new Garuda Indonesia
President Director.
Up till Q3-2014, Garuda Indonesia carried a
total of 20.9 million passengers; an increase by 15.2% compared to
the 18.1 million passengers carried in the same period last year.
Garuda Indonesia also increased cargo volume to 292.888 tons, a
15.4% rise from last year's 253,894 tons.
Garuda Indonesia's domestic and
international flight frequency up till Q3-2014 experienced an
improvement of 15.4%, from 143,499 flights in the same period of
2013 to 165,642 flights. On Time Performance (OTP) also reached
89.6%; rising 4.1% from last year's 85.5%.
By September
2014, Garuda Indonesia operated as many as 160 airplanes with an
average age of 4.7 years, to serve routes to the capital and
secondary cities in all of Indonesia's provinces.
Through the
"Quantum Leap 2011-2015" program, by 2015, Garuda Indonesia
targets on operating 194 airplanes that are less than 5 years old.
By becoming a member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance in
March 2014, Garuda Indonesia, together with 19 other SkyTeam
members, has a network that covers 1,052 destination cities in 177
countries, with up to a total of 16,323 flights per day.
