Pan Pacific Hotels Group has opened a new Global
Sales Office in Beijing, complementing its existing Global Sales
Office in Shanghai.
Over the past year, Pan Pacific Hotels Group has
been ramping up its developments in China, where it now owns
and/or manages four Pan Pacific properties – namely Pan Pacific
Xiamen, Pan Pacific Suzhou, Pan Pacific Ningbo and Pan Pacific
Serviced Suites Ningbo. The group is on track to open its fifth –
the 319-room Pan Pacific Hotel and Serviced Suites Tianjin – later
this year and also has two more pipeline projects in Chengdu and
Zhuhai.
In conjunction with the opening of its Beijing
Global Sales Office, Pan Pacific has appointed Charles Cheng as
Director, Global Sales, Beijing to head the new Office.
Charles will be responsible for managing the
group’s key clients in Northern China and expanding the market
through the generation of sales leads and bookings to drive
revenue for the group’s properties within and outside of China.
A seasoned industry professional with close to
20 years of sales experience in China at both the hotel and
regional level, Charles was most recently Director, Global Sales,
Northern China at Langham Hospitality Group. He has also served in
management positions with international hotel chains including
InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and
Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
“The opening of our new Global Sales Office in
Beijing and Charles’s appointment mark the latest in the group’s
recent chain of developments in China, made in strategic response
to the global importance and vast potential of the country’s
domestic and outbound travel market,” said Kevin Croley, Senior
Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Pan Pacific Hotels Group. “As a top Chinese city, Beijing is central to
China’s tourism developments and represents a key source market
for the Group’s properties within and outside of the country. Our
new Beijing Global Sales Office, helmed by an experienced and
capable Chinese sales veteran, will put the Group in a more
advantageous position to expand our customer reach and strengthen
our foothold in this critical growth market.”
