Air China will launch Beijing-Yangon and
Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon flights on 30 March 2014.
As the situation in Myanmar has stabilized, both
leisure and business travelers are steadily increasing. Statistics
suggest that in the three years from 2010 to 2012, air travelers
from China to Yangon increased at a rate of 30.1%, and from
January to July 2013, travelers increased by 23.1% year on year.
The introduction of the two services - Beijing-Yangon and
Chengdu-Kunming-Yangon - will not only meet the needs of Chinese
leisure and business travelers, but also offer an additional
transit option via Beijing for Southeast Asia travelers to Japan,
South Korea, Europe, and America.
Moreover, it will further
improve Air China's global route network with its hub in Beijing
and solidify the role of Chengdu as Air China's regional hub,
making southwest China and other parts of the world more
accessible to each other.
