To celebrate the launch of British Airways A380 direct flights to Johannesburg from London Heathrow, British Airways is offering five members of the public from around the world a once in a lifetime opportunity, to race the A380 super jumbo on the runway in South Africa, early February 2014.

BA.com’s ManVsPlane contest follows last year’s smash hit viral video (approaching 2 Million You Tube views) featuring South African Rugby legend Bryan Habana race against British Airways’ new A380 on the runway.

“In 2013, I raced British Airways new A380 aircraft and won. Now, it's your turn to accept the challenge. Participants need to be physically fit and have the strength, stamina and speed to beat the plane to the finish line,” said Bryan Habana, South Africa Springboks and Toulon.

To be in with a chance of winning a place in the race, visit ba.com/ManVsPlane before Monday, 20 January 2014, and fulfill the entry requirements. Five winners will be selected to fly to South Africa next month with British Airways.

The runner with the quickest time on the day will win two return tickets (in Club World) on one of British Airways A380 direct flights to London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong or Johannesburg, enjoying the sweet taste of success.

From 12 February 2014, British Airways will fly its new A380 between the airline’s home base of London Heathrow Terminal 5 and Johannesburg.
