Honeywell Aerospace has signed a deal that makes Air
China a warranty repair station for the 131-9A/B Auxiliary
Power Unit (APU).
Under the agreement, Air China will be able to
repair and maintain 131-9A/B APUs for its Airbus A320 and Boeing
737NG fleet of aircraft.
Prior to the agreement, Air China used to send
the 131-9A/B APUs to Honeywells authorized service centers to
claim warranty repair. Now Honeywell will provide Air China with
engineering expertise and support resources that will allow Air
China to improve its repair skills, better manage maintenance
costs and expedite maintenance turnaround time. The agreement
enables Air China to ultimately lower its total cost of ownership.
A vital piece of Honeywell technology, the 131-9
series APU has surpassed 100 million hours in service across
more than 7,500 narrow-body aircraft around the world such as the
Boeing 737, McDonnell Douglas MD-90, and Airbus A319, A320 and
A321 models.
