VietJet has signed a sale leaseback agreement
with GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) for two Airbus A320
aircraft.
The two aircraft are part of the fleet
order made by VietJet in February this year, for a total of 100
Airbus aircraft to be delivered from 2014 to 2018.
With BNP Paribas acting as the financial advisor
to VietJet, this latest agreement will see Airbus deliver both the
aircraft in November and December respectively, enabling the new
age carrier to accelerate its expansions plans within the region.
VietJet currently operates 21 routes, with an extensive
domestic network as well as direct flights from Ho Chi Minh
to Bangkok (Thailand) and Singapore.
The airline also operates daily
flights from Hanoi and Da Nang to Seoul with a flight capacity of
5,040 seats weekly.
