Rosewood has expanded its growing portfolio of
hotels in China, with the signing of a new hotel in Guangzhou.
Sheduled to open in 2017, Rosewood Guangzhou
guests will have an eagle’s eye view of the metropolis with the
hotel occupying the top 16 floors and podium of the 530-meter
(1,738-foot) Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre currently under
development.
The Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre will not only be Guangzhou’s tallest building
but will also be amongst
the 10 highest in the world. It is expected to have the fastest
high-speed elevators in the world, capable of travelling at 20 meters per second.
The
hotel will feature 251 guestrooms at a minimum size
of 55 square meters (592 square feet) and 355 Rosewood Residences,
23 of which will be duplex apartments.
The hotel
will be located in the heart of Tianhe District’s central business
area, near luxury shopping malls and within walking distance of
cultural destinations such as Guangdong Museum and the Zaha Hadid-designed
Guangzhou Opera House.
Project consultants include
New York-based architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates;
Toronto-based Yabu Pushelberg creating guestrooms, meeting spaces,
restaurants and public areas; Tokyo-based Super Potato crafting
the design of the Chinese restaurant and bar; Hong Kong-based
Perception directing the design of Rosewood Residences and
Bangkok-based P Landscape creating the arrival courtyard and
multiple terraces.
Rosewood Guangzhou will offer
seven food and beverage venues, including a bistro, bar, lobby
lounge and gourmet corner. Open-air dining and entertainment
spaces will abound. Of the nine private dining rooms in the
Chinese restaurant, three will be free-standing outdoor garden
villas, combinable into one space for celebratory events. On the
107th floor, a contemporary, cosmopolitan restaurant and a sky bar
with cigar humidor area and fully equipped wine corner and cellar,
will incorporate both indoor and outdoor space. The bar will have
the distinction of being the highest situated bar in mainland
China.
The home-like Manor Club executive lounge
will offer exclusive amenities, services, refreshments and
surroundings for guests seeking the utmost privilege.
Occupying a total of 2,250 square meters (24,200 square feet),
meeting facilities will include The Pavilion, a residential-style
function space; a grand ballroom of 970 square meters (10,440
square feet) with capacity for 700 persons; three function rooms;
two VIP rooms; one bridal suite; and a Sky Mansion on the 108th
floor featuring a show kitchen terrace.
Recreational options will include a two-level Sense spa with
eight spa treatment suites, a health club and indoor pool.
“Rosewood Guangzhou will mark an impressive entry of
the brand to this vibrant international commercial and financial
hub,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel
Group. “We are confident that Rosewood Guangzhou will cleverly
express the brand’s A Sense of Place concept in one of China’s
