Starwood has signed an agreement with Shenyang Huaqiang Jinlang City Square Properties to debut the W Hotels brand in Shenyang, a province in the north east of China.

Scheduled to open in 2019, W Shenyang will be located along Qingnian Avenue, known as the city’s Golden Corridor, which comprises the central business district, central administration district and central cultural district.

W Shenyang will offer 280 guestrooms, including 30 suites and an Extreme Wow Suite (the W brand’s reinterpretation of the traditional Presidential Suite).

It will also feature more than 26,000 square feet of meeting and event space as well as a 24-hour business center, a spa, workout facility, indoor heated swimming pool, and W Hotels The Store.

In addition, the hotel will offer four unique restaurants and bars, including an all-day dining restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and the Living Room Bar.

“We are delighted to partner with Huaqiang Group to launch the W brand in Shenyang,” said Qian Jin, President, Greater China, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. “Since W Hotels made its debut in mainland China last year, the brand continues to redefine China’s luxury hotel experience. W Shenyang will offer cutting-edge design, Whatever/Whenever service, bustling bar and restaurant, and insider access to what’s new and next for both guests and locals alike.”

W Hotels is slated to open 12 new properties in the Asia Pacific region by 2019 with more than half those hotels planned for China, including new flagships in Beijing and Shanghai as well as Suzhou, Changsha and Chengdu.
