The Oetker Collection has added the Fregate Island Private in the Seychelles to its growing worldwide portfolio.

The luxury retreat occupies an entire private island in the middle of the turquoise and temperate waters of the Indian Ocean.

Its sixteen residences ranging from 400 to 700 square meters, are naturally secluded, and all have their own terrace, large private infinity pool and jacuzzi.

On the Island, guests can enjoy seven stunning beaches with the possibility to “privatise” their own, including the beach acclaimed amongst the 10 best beaches in the world.

In addition to the amazing coastline, Fregate Island Private is home to the second largest population of Giant Aldabra Land Tortoises. Many birds also take up permanent or temporary residence in the island which is also the nesting home to endangered turtle species. The private inland harbour is the first port of call for all sea adventures and the wealth of marine wildlife.

Thanks to great care to nurture the natural habitat, organic vegetables and fruits are grown on the island’s plantation for hotel guests to ensure the highest quality and freshness of food. The line of Rock Spa products, named after the hotel spa facilities, is made from the plants harvested on site.

Frank Marrenbach, CEO of Oetker Collection, said, “Fregate Island Private is in perfect harmony with the requirements of Oetker Collection: exceptional environmental settings, overall wellbeing, exquisite décor and incomparable service. It is certainly one of the most inspiring private islands worldwide. We are of course very happy to have an experienced General Manager such as Paul van Frank on board, who will be the custodian of these values. After L’Apogée Courchevel, due to open in December 2013, we are delighted to welcome Fregate Island Private as our eighth masterpiece hotel. Every hotel is passionately managed based on our ability to protect individuality and on the shared principle of creating unique moments for our guests. One of a kind as we say.”
