Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport has celebrated the grand opening of the airport’s first Minute Suites - an around-the-clock nap center for passengers to relax, conduct business or sleep in a private suite available by the hour.

The first of two Minute Suites centers planned for DFW officially opened in Terminal D near gate D23, with nine sleep suites and two shower facilities, a first for the company.

“The addition of Minute Suites gives DFW another unique and highly sought service for our passengers,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW Airport. “We are always looking for new ways to enhance our world-renowned customer service here at DFW, and Minute Suites certainly does that by offering a great way to refresh or get some serious work done during a layover.”

Each suite serves as a private oasis for customers, equipped with a daybed sofa that features two sleeping surfaces with fresh pillows and blankets.

A sound-masking system in each suite neutralizes noise, and the unique NAP26 audio program helps deliver the equivalent of three hours of sleep in only 26 minutes.

Each room also features a high-definition television with access to DIRECTV, the Internet, and flight-tracking information.

Suites are priced at just US$34 for a one-hour minimum stay and then US$8.50 for every 15 minutes thereafter. Rate reductions begin at four hours including a flat overnight rate of US$125.

Daniel Solomon, CEO of Minute Suites, said, “We are extremely pleased to open our first DFW location and expand our position as a concept leader among airports ... We have scientifically engineered these suites to provide the best rest available on the go, and we’re confident that DFW passengers will be very pleased with the suite design and amenities, as well as the well-trained staff.”

DFW becomes the third U.S. airport with a Minute Suites location, joining Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International (ATL) and Philadelphia International (PHL).

Another Minute Suites location at DFW is planned as part of the next phase of renovations in Terminal A next year.
