Anglers are being lured to Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa in the Snowy Mountains of Australia for a fishing event from 24 to 27 May.

The Trout Angler Summit will offer fishing enthusiasts the chance to fish in Snowy Mountain waterways as well as attend a series of expert workshops moderated by some of Australia’s most eminent anglers.

Workshop mentors include television personality and world record holder Steve Starling, Master fly fishing instructor and author Simon Zarifeh, expert cane rod builder Nick Taransky, knot tying instructor Jo Starling and professional fishing guide Matt Tripet.

Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa general manager Scott O’Neile said the waterways around the resort are home to a variety of trout including the beautiful rainbow trout.

“The Trout Angler Summit allows fishing enthusiasts of all skill levels to spend a weekend developing their fishing techniques under the expert tuition of some of Australia’s leading instructors,” said Scott. “But it’s not all about the workshops, we will be staging four fishing sessions at various fishing locations around Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa. Out of respect for the pristine environment, the competition will be entirely catch and release with participants taking photos of their catch before returning it to the water.”

Packages including three nights accommodation, daily breakfast, nightly dinner and lunch on Saturday and Sunday as well as entry to five fishing sessions and a choice of five specialized workshops start from A$699 per person.
