A triumphant welcome awaits the riders of the
100th Tour de France when they barrel down the Champs-Elysées in
Paris on 21 July 2013, and you too could live the dream.
Shortly before the Tour draws to a close on what
many claim to be the most beautiful avenue in the world, members
of the public will get the chance to push the pedals in a huge
convivial ride on the final circuit which will be tackled by the
champions of the Grande Boucle just a few hours later.
A Legendary Circuit Through the
Heart of Paris
Many cycling enthusiasts will have, at one time or
another, dreamed of riding down the
Champs-Elysées on a summer Sunday, discovering the Arc de Triomphe, the Obelisk on Place de la Concorde and the Louvre
without being bothered by traffic.
Now, the Randonnée du Tour (Tour
Gran Fondo) will give 5,000 very lucky participants a rare opportunity
to do this on 21 July.
The course is a 6.9 km loop that will take
them around some of the most well-known landmarks of this amazing capital
city.
All clad
in yellow together with their family or friends, the amateur
cyclists will depart Avenue Foch at 3 pm and ride the
same loop around the Champs-Elysées as the pros.
Regardless of his/her level of
fitness, anyone ten years old or over can now
sign up for this
huge convivial cyclist gathering.
Participants must pay a €5 registration
fee, and all funds raised will be donated to the charities Mécénat
Chirurgie Cardiaque and HandicapZéro.
