Malaysia Airlines will commence daily Airbus A380 service on the
Kuala Lumpur - Hong Kong route effective 1 May 2013.
The 494-seater super jumbo will be replacing one
of the current Boeing 737-800 double daily services on this route.
Flight MH72 from Kuala Lumpur will now
depart at 09:15 and arrive Hong Kong at 13:05, while MH73 from
Hong Kong leaves at 14:45 and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 18:25.
In conjunction with the launch the airline is
offering special Economy Class fares from Kuala Lumpur to Hong
Kong on the A380 from now until 20 May 2013, for travel between 1
May and 30 November 2013. Fares start from RM380 one-way and RM760
return all-inclusive.
Malaysia Airlines' A380 Economy Class comprises
a total of 420 seats. 350 seats are located on the main deck and
70 on the upper deck. The forward recline seats come equipped with
individual PED power supply, USB port and 10.6 inches inflight
entertainment touch screen.
With the A380 replacing the Boeing 737-800,
Malaysia Airlines is also introducing First Class travel on this
route. The super jumbo has eight First Class seats on the main
deck, which converts into a full flat bed of 87 inches in length
and a width of 40 inches. Each seat boasts an individual 23-inch
inflight entertainment screen with personal closet and stowage for
coat, luggage, laptop and personal belongings.
The airlines’ A380 also has 66 Business Class
seats on the upper deck and each comes with individual 17-inch
inflight entertainment screens, the largest amongst Malaysia
Airlines’ Business Class. Personal items stowage is available on
each seat along with 115VAC PED power supply and USB port.
Hong Kong will be the national carrier's third
A380 destination after London and Paris.
