Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London is expanding
its guest facilities with the opening of a new swimming pool and
fitness centre, scheduled for early summer 2013.
The new fitness and wellbeing space,
designed by designer Adam D. Tihany (who designed both Dinner by
Heston Blumenthal and Bar Boulud at the hotel), will include a
17-metre indoor stainless steel swimming pool with deck, internet
stations, and male and female changing rooms.
The fitness centre has been tailored to the
cosmopolitan, luxury traveller and boasts Corian screens used to
create privacy and Technogym wellness equipment.
The indoor
swimming pool is enclosed by stainless steel and glass, and
features a discreet, modern fireplace, an intricately crafted
mosaic wall and a waterfall feature.
The accompanying changing
area offers several post-workout indulgences including a sauna and
steam room, revitalizing experience showers and a relaxation area.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has teamed up with
Sculpt, an health and fitness consultancy, to offer
both members and guests’ a complete menu of wellness services.
With a holistic approach which looks at lifestyle, nutrition and
work environment, Sculpt’s team of experts include
personal trainers, nutritionists and a physiotherapist under the
guidance of former international swimmer David Jones.
The new swimming pool and fitness centre will be available
to a limited number of private memberships.
