Hilton has appointed Chris Ehmann as General
Manager for both Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok and DoubleTree by Hilton
Sukhumvit.
In this role, Ehmann will lead the team in preparation
of the openings of the DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit in April
2013 and the Hilton Sukhumvit in May 2013, develop both hotels’
vision and strategy, as well as oversee hotel operations.
He will
also play a vital role in employee training and development, while
driving performance across various aspects including financial
success, brand value, guest satisfaction and engagement as well as
service quality.
“Ehmann has a strong understanding of the
global hospitality industry and having worked in Canada, Germany,
United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Romania, Saudi Arabia,
Egypt, Australia and Malaysia. His experience and strong commitment to service excellence make him an invaluable asset to
the team,” said Dirk De Cuyper, Regional General Manager for
Thailand, Hilton Worldwide. “I am confident in his abilities to
develop and grow both the Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton brands
and enhance our guests’ experience at these exciting new
properties.”
Ehmann has over 20 years of international
hotel experience and first joined the Hilton Worldwide family in
1999 as Director of Operations at Athenee Palace Hilton in
Bucharest, Romania. He subsequently held the same position in a
number of Hilton Worldwide properties including Jeddah Hilton,
Jumeirah Hilton and Nile Hilton. He was also General Manager at Hilton Adelaide.
Ehmann was most recently General Manager of
Hilton Petaling Jaya in Malaysia where he played an integral role
in overseeing a US$20 million renovation as well as the
repositioning of the hotel which resulted in a 20% increase on the
average room rate.
In addition to his workplace
achievements, Ehmann has also completed a Master’s in Business
Management at Henley Management College.
Ehmann is Canadian, and is
fluent in English and French.
