Langham is to manage a brand new Langham Place
hotel in Haining, a bustling metropolis in the Zhejiang coastal
province.
The property, which is being developed by Hong
Kong-based Mingly Real Estate Corporation, is scheduled to open in
2014.
Featuring 266 guest rooms and suites,
Langham Place, Haining will be part of an integrated complex
comprising a retail shopping centre, commercial offices and
residential apartments.
Langham Hospitality Group’s Chief
Executive Officer Brett Butcher, said, “Following the successful
debut of the
Langham Place in Hong Kong with subsequent openings in Beijing
and most recently in
New York City, we are well on track to grow the Langham Place
brand in China and key destinations around the world.”
Langham Place, Haining will offer guests a wide
variety of dining and entertainment options, including
an all-day dining restaurant, a casual signature lounge and bar,
and a fine-dining Chinese restaurant.
The
hotel’s meeting and banqueting facilities will feature a 900
square-metre pillar-free grand ballroom, a junior ballroom of 300
square metres, and eight multi-function rooms ranging from 45 to
100 square metres. The highlight for event planners will be the
generously proportioned 3,000 square-metre ceremonial hall set
amidst a private landscaped Wedding Park along the city’s river.
The Chuan Spa at
Langham Place, Haining will incorporate the principles of
traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and wellness treatments. The spa will include six private treatment rooms
and a Contemplation Lounge, as well as an indoor swimming pool and
a fully equipped fitness centre.

Place hotels set to open in Ningbo, Guangzhou and Xiamen this
year, China is definitely one of the primary regions of expansion

Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai, and we look forward to playing an
important role in the city’s future.”
Haining has a rich heritage dating back 6,000 years
to the New Stone Age. Located at the south of the Yangtze River
delta, it is a 90-minute drive to Shanghai and one hour away to
the picturesque city of Hangzhou. Known primarily for its quality leather products, Haining is also popular with thousands of
tourists who visit the ancient monuments dating back to the Ming
and Qing dynasties, and marvel at the the spectacular annual tides
that rush up the Qiantang River.
