Gulf Airs Manager of Emergency Response
Planning and Security, Mrs. Hala Azam has been elected, for a
three year term, to the position of Chairperson of the Arab Air
Carriers Organizations (AACO) first Emergency Response Planning
Taskforce (ERPTF).
Established to enhance the level of
Emergency Response Management capabilities in the region, the
newly-formed team will work closely with IATA, the airlines
world-wide trade association, to help establish a global framework
of emergency best practices.
Congratulating Mrs. Azam,
Gulf Air Chief Operations Officer Mr. Nasser Al Salmi said, An
airlines main priority is the safety and security of its
passengers; however should an emergency arise, preparation is
critical. It is absolutely essential to have a strong team, which
is professionally trained to handle various aspects of an
emergency situation. Gulf Airs Emergency Response Team is led by Hala; with over 20 years of experience in Gulf Air, she is ideally
positioned to lead the AACO Emergency Response Planning Taskforce.
I congratulate her on her achievement as the first Bahraini female
to lead a regional ERPTF and I wish her all the best.
Mrs.
Azam said, I am delighted to be part of the newly formed
regional AACO taskforce. In an emergency situation coordination
and cooperation are key and the new AACO taskforce will facilitate
experience sharing and planning to enhance both emergency response
management capabilities and the preparedness level across the
region in case of an emergency.
Gulf Air has a robust Emergency Response system
in place that can be activated by the airlines Chief Operations
Officer in the event of an emergency.
Bahrain,
